Club Rules

Our shared love of a hit joins us. Our club is a welcoming and inclusive environment for all who have a love of the game. Please enjoy the club and rooms, and familiarise yourself with a few ground rules which ensure fair, equitable and respectful conduct at all times - all underpinning a culture of friendly competition and community.

Members make our club great

A few simple rules and common courtesies keep our club in good shape for all to enjoy.

booking

Our online booking system is a transparent and efficient way to gain access to the courts at a time that suits you and your family. To keep things accessible and fair:

  • book no more than two weeks in advance

  • single hour bookings only, one court per member

  • in the event you can’t make your booking, please cancel the booking on Skedda

  • each member may permit one guest

Courts

We love to see families, friends and lovers of tennis enjoying the courts, so please assist us in keeping them in pristine condition year-round:

  • please wear appropriate footwear

  • do not allow your children to climb or tug on the nets

  • during Winter or wet weather, be mindful of your footing on the wet surface, for your safety also

courtesy

Our Clubhouse facilities are for the enjoyment and comfort of all members. Please be courteous to your fellow members and leave the Club as you found it.

  • Morey Coaching Equipment is not for member use

  • Please keep the kitchen facilities tidy and clean

  • Please respect the bathroom facilities by keeping them clean for the next members using them

Night Play

Floodlights on the school side court allow night time play by inserting 5 x $2 coins in the box attached to the left of the Clubhouse door to activate.

  • There are additional lights on Court 2 for lighting assistance during dusk hours (switch inside Clubhouse)

  • Thank you for respecting our neighbours by ensuring your night tennis games finish by 9pm

  • Once the sun goes down, no music is to be played and noise should be kept to a minimum

Members
code of conduct

As a member, please ensure you understand the expected behaviours of our club members to ensure we all enjoy our tennis in an inclusive and supportive environment. The Members Code of Conduct is supplied with your membership application and printed in the club rooms for reference.

Should you wish to bring more players to the Club on a regular basis, permission must first be granted and a formal arrangement of payment for non-members approved by the Club President prior to starting. Please email club@sjoatennisbrighton.com with any such enquiries.
