Nik started his tennis career as a top 8 ranked Australian junior from 12 - 16 years of age and attended Haileybury College where he was Captain of Tennis and a school prefect. He was also a team member of 3 APS Tennis Premierships in a row from 1985-87. In 1986 he also played in the Australian Open juniors in its final year at Kooyong and in 1987 was Captain of the Combined APS team that defeated the AGS.

Nik has been our club coach since 1991 and has established himself as one of the leading coaches in the Bayside area. He is one of the few coaches in the area to have taken junior players from 5 years of age through to US College on scholarships. In addition to that he has coached all level juniors and adults and has been responsible for the strong number of junior teams that have represented St Joan over this period.

Focusing on top level coaching for a number of years, Nik is currently part of Tennis Australia’s High-Performance team through his long-time work with talented junior and club member Lachlan King who was selected to represent Australia in the prestigious Wimbledon Under 14’s Singles Event (2023). As Lachlan’s coach, Nik was invited to attend as a guest of the All England Club. In addition to the many people he has coached along the way Nik also started Dylan Alcott off on his tennis journey at St Joan Of Arc and has been acknowledged by Tennis Australia for his role in Dylan’s tennis journey.

Nik leads a well credentialled team of coaches who all have extensive tennis playing backgrounds. All staff are kept up to date with modern teaching techniques and drills carefully designed to help improve playing and enjoyment levels for all players. As a result, Morey Tennis has established itself as Bayside’s leading tennis coaching organisation.
