SJOA Tennis Club has attracted many local identities and tennis enthusiasts over the years, including Cyril Bass, the namesake of Court 1, who was a coach, mentor and benefactor to the club for many years until his retirement at the age of 85.

Mr Cyril Bass, the court’s namesake, loved tennis and was dedicated to the juniors he coached at SJA. He would be delighted to know that as a result of his generosity, over 300 members at SJA Tennis Club are enjoying the club and courts.
